PacificLight is committed to safeguarding your personal data. We respect the privacy of your personal data and do not collect information about you without your knowledge.

This privacy policy explains how we, PacificLight and its affiliates, collect, retain, use, and disclose your personal data.

ENTRY INTO POWER PLANT

This Privacy Policy applies to all persons who have visited, or will be visiting, our facilities on Jurong Island.

Jurong Island is gazetted as a Protected Area, whilst PacificLight’s facilities are gazetted as a Protected Place pursuant to the Infrastructure Protection Act. As such, pre-screening by JTC and the Ministry of Home Affairs is mandatory for all visitors to our facilities on Jurong Island.

Personal data refers to any information about a person from which such person can be identified. It includes all personal data provided to us by you in any application to visit our facilities on Jurong Island. Personal data which we may collect includes, without limitation, your:

  • (a) Name, nationality;
  • (b) ID Type, ID No.;
  • (c) Passport;
  • (d) Contact number, email address;
  • (e) Date of birth;
  • (f) Gender;
  • (g) Country of birth;
  • (h) Occupation;
  • (i) Work permit / employment pass number;
  • (j) Date of WP/EO application and expiry; and/or
  • (k) Photographs and video images.

We also collect and store information on your preferences by way of cookies when your visit our website. Please refer to the section below on cookies.

You have choices regarding our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data. By voluntarily submitting any personal data to us, you accept this Privacy Policy and expressly agree to the collection, retention, usage, and disclosure of information with our affiliates and third-party service providers for the purposes of your visit to our facilities on Jurong Island. We collect, use, and disclose your personal data for the following purposes:

  • i. for security reasons;
  • ii. for maintenance or contract works;
  • iii. for insurance purposes;
  • iv. for audit or record purposes;
  • v. for the provision of products and services by PacificLight and its affiliates;
  • vi. for carrying out any contractual obligations;
  • vii. for the purpose of audits and/or the improvement of internal processes; and
  • viii. if you have consented, for external publicity and internal circulation on your visit to our premises.

Except for the following organisations, PacificLight will not disclose your personal data to external organizations unless we have received your consent or are under either a legal obligation or other duty to do so:-

  • i. Regulators;
  • ii. Lawyers, accountants, auditors;
  • iii. Third party service providers; and
  • iv. Any agents acting on our behalf.

We may collect, use, or disclose your personal data under exception from the PDPA if necessary. You shall ensure that all personal data submitted to us is complete, accurate, true, and correct. If there is a change to any personal data, including your contact information such as your email address or telephone number, please promptly update us on such change in writing to [email protected].

A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer’s hard disk. Cookies are used to improve our website’s functionality by gathering and storing information about user preferences which helps us to serve you better. You may disable cookies by changing the setting on your browser. However, if you disable cookies, you may not be able to access, or use, certain features on our website.

We take reasonable measures to safeguard your personal data in our possession from unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or similar risks.

You should however be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Whilst security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of your information and constantly review and enhance our information security measures.

This website may contain links to third-party websites where the data protection and privacy practices may be different from ours. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other websites, and we encourage you to refer to the privacy statements of these websites.

We shall only retain your personal data as long as there are continuing purpose(s) for doing so. Where such purposes no longer exist, we shall cease to retain your personal data by either deleting or anonymising your personal data.

We generally do not transfer your personal data overseas. However, if we do so, we shall obtain your consent for the transfer to be made and will take steps to ensure that your personal data continues to receive a standard of protection that is at least comparable to that provided under the PDPA.

You may withdraw your consent for us to collect, use, or disclose your personal data for any, or all, of the purposes listed above by giving us reasonable notice to process your request and for us to notify you of the consequences of your withdrawal.

Whilst we respect your decision to withdraw your consent, please note that depending on the nature and extent of your request, we may not be in a position to process your pre-screening application with MHA (as the case may be). We shall, in such circumstances, notify you before completing the processing of your request. Should you decide to cancel your withdrawal of consent, please inform us in writing to [email protected].

Please note that withdrawing your consent means that we shall hereby be discharged from any obligation to protect your personal data, having destroyed the same, but this consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose your personal data where such collection, use and disclosure without consent is permitted or required under applicable law.
